The Diploma in Corporate Security Management Studies (DCSMS) is a Five (5) module program offered on both Full-time and Part-time basis. It is designed to provide a broad overview of the Corporate Security function through five modules comprising Corporate Security Management; Information Security and Data Protection; Physical Security Planning and Design; Security Risk and Threat Management and Business Continuity Management. It is structured to provide security practitioners with comprehensive knowledge of the critical functions of the Corporate Security portfolio within the private sector industry. CSMS teaches foundational knowledge for corporate security management and incorporates concepts, principles, strategic structures, and models that has been researched and applied across various private sector industries. It also examines global Security and Risk- related data, trends and case studies which are then applied through practical assignments.

DCSMS allows security practitioners in both the public and private sectors to recognise the role and strategic value of the Corporate Security function within a Business or Organization. It specifically defines the integral collaborative partnerships between the Corporate Security function and the various Business functions within a Company or Organization that is required in order to achieve early identification of security-related threats and risks that may cripple the operations of the company or organization. It also examines the differences between the implementation of countermeasures and mitigating solutions to safeguard the Business or Organization against such security-related threats and risks.

The Diploma in Corporate Security Management Studies is applicable and relevant to security practitioners from both the Public and Private Sectors, as well as those who are considering a career transition from a non-security role. DCSMS aims to equip both security practitioners and new entrants into the security industry with a competent level of subject matter expertise that they can apply through actionable outcomes in their respective work industry.

Notably, the trainers engaged are Subject Matter Experts (SME) in their respective fields, holding professional certifications and with years of hands on experience in various industries. The teaching methodology adopted is by impartation of knowledge and skills through participative learning, discussions, table-top exercises (TTX) and practical assignments.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a comprehensive knowledge of the critical functions of the Corporate Security portfolio within the private sector industry and teach foundational knowledge for corporate security management
    through concepts, principles, strategic structures and various models that has been researched and applied across various private sector industries.
  • To learn the critical fundamentals of physical security planning and design through concepts, principles and structures and how they are applied into planning and designing of physical security to protect a physical landscape or built-up space, including understanding the concept and functional use of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as part of the physical security planning and design strategy.
  • To acquire knowledge and understanding of Information Security and Data Protection, learn new strategies and approaches at cyber defence and understand the fundamentals of system architecture.
  • To learn the fundamental concept of Location Threat Assessment for high-risk locations and how to identify Escalation and De-escalation Trigger Points for a given high-risk location.
  • To understand the various components that constitutes a Business Continuity Management program and learn to develop a crisis management plan, business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan respectively, according to definitions, concepts and structures in ISO 22301.

These Standard Terms and Conditions apply to participation in events organised by Academy of Security, Intelligence And Risk Studies Pte Ltd (ASIRS).

  1. In this section, words like ‘holder’, ‘bearer’, and ‘purchaser’ will refer to you – the person who will buy the tickets to an event organised by ASIRS. On the other hand, ‘our’, ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘issuer’, ‘provider’ and similar terms will refer to the organiser, Academy of Security, Intelligence And Risk Studies Pte Ltd (ASIRS).
     
  2. By opting to purchase, allocate or possess tickets to ASIRS events, you automatically agree to our terms of use. If you have problems with any of the clauses listed below or do not agree with the risk allocations mentioned here, please do not purchase tickets.
     
  3. Please note that ASIRS reserves the right to make changes, revisions, and amendments, or add/remove sections from this set of terms and conditions – without any prior notifications to you. These changes will relate back to the date of purchase of any ASIRS event tickets.
     
  4. The ticket you purchase represents a revocable license for you to only access the event that you had purchased. This license can be revoked at any time by the issuer at its sole discretion, without any prior notifications. If the license is revoked, you will not be granted entry into the event.
     
  5. Kindly note that WeCognition.com, ASIRS.org and globale2c.com.sg are the authorised source for purchasing ASIRS event tickets. If you obtain your ticket(s) from any other unauthorised source, you take on the risks of those tickets turning out to be counterfeit. The issuer has the right to dishonour such counterfeit tickets and declare them as void.
     
  6. ASIRS event tickets delivered to you are not meant to be used for illegal reselling, copying, reproducing, or misrepresenting in any form. You cannot use the ticket(s) for any promotional/advertising purposes either without our prior approval. Any proven record of such activities will result in immediate seizure and cancellation of your ticket(s).
     
  7. Please note that ASIRS event tickets cannot be redeemed against cash, credits, or any other benefits.
     
  8. ASIRS has the right to investigate if there has been any violation of the ticketing terms and conditions. In case of any conflicts, the decision of ASIRS will be deemed final (i.e., the issuer will remain the final arbiter in cases of disputes).
     
  9. The event service will be deemed to have been delivered in its entirety as soon as event starts. From that point on, no refund requests will be entertained.
     
  10. If the event is cancelled in its entirety due to any unforeseen circumstances, purchaser will be informed and have the right to: i) join the next schedule the event, or ii) request for refund.
     
  11. If event is cancelled due to any factors or causes not in the control of the issuer, the latter will offer a partial or full refund, or postpone the event, or provide a comparable ‘make good’ option. These factors will be inclusive of, but not limited to, natural disasters, government announcements, strikes, power failure, and the like. The decision of ASIRS will be considered final.
     
  12. In case the event is fully canceled, the refund, if issued, will include only the face value/printed value of the ticket(s). The bearer cannot, under any circumstances, claim refunds on transport fees, accommodation fees, processing fees, and such other charges.
     
  13. Losses, if any, occurring due to foreign exchange fluctuations at the time of refunds, have to be borne by the purchaser. ASIRS cannot be, in any way, held liable for that.
     
  14. By purchasing the event tickets, you give your consent to ASIRS to collect certain information about yourself (name, picture, date of birth, gender, address, etc.) for verification and storage.
     
  15. ASIRS does not take any responsibility to personal/financial damages caused to you at the event, or for any items lost/stolen/misplaced at the event. Financial reimbursement claims on these counts will not be entertained.
     
  16. Please note that you purchase the event tickets on your own free will. As such, you do not have the right to initiate a chargeback claim or dispute on the provider of the credit card/debit card that had been used for the transaction. Further refund/return/cancellation requests will not be entertained either.
     
  17. This terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
     
  18. Any dispute among the parties arising out of or in connection with this agreement, or in the performance thereof shall in the first instance be referred to the authorised representatives of the parties for amicable resolution, failing which, the parties shall and hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts to adjudicate the dispute.
     
  19. If any term or provision in these Terms and Conditions shall be held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining terms and provisions in these Terms and Conditions shall not be affected by such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability, and shall remain in force and effect, and such invalid, illegal, or unenforceable term or provision shall be deemed not to be part of these Terms and Conditions.
